Diana Walker Breast Cancer Foundation was established to bring Hope to those who are suffering from cancer and their families, and to those who will yet face the disease.

Mission Statement:
1. Provide financial assistance; 2. Give the gift of inspirational music; and 3. Provide woman at high risk of breast cancer a newly developed blood test that is 80-90% effective in detecting cancer years before a mammogram or physician’s exam. This cutting edge technology is available through a partnership between the Diana Walker Breast Cancer Foundation and Power 3 Medical. *

Diana is a world renowned singer of opera and musical theatre and an advanced-stage breast cancer survivor. Her desire is to bless other’s lives with her talent in a direct and meaningful way through fund-raising concerts, CD and online music sales, and donor support. |
| As a survivor, Diana knows personally the overwhelming fatigue and disabling sickness that accompany surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation. She also knows the struggle to pay for medical costs and other bills when insurance fails to do so. While those below the poverty level receive government assistance, some hard working families are on their own. Others, including the self-employed, often have to pay large deductibles and co-payments in order to afford health insurance. There are also additional costs for drugs or other services, which insurance may not cover. Further, for many months the cancer victim is unable or tremendously limited in his or her ability to continue working, thus losing employment and/or income at a most critical time. |
IT IS THE MISSION OF THIS FOUNDATION to reach out in compassion to serve the immediate needs of those fighting cancer in direct and meaningful ways, AND to assist in the research, awareness and availability of the new early detection blood test by Power3 Medical. * Power 3 Medical, a leading biotechnology company engaged in the early detection, monitoring, and targeting of disease through the analysis of proteins, has developed a blood test which detects breast cancer in its earliest stages through the disease’s proteomic signature. Before breast cancer can be found by a mammogram or felt as a lump, it has been present for at least several years. A positive blood test then gives reason for an MRI, and/or careful watchfulness until the exact location of the cancer can be pinpointed. (Some studies suggest that specialized nutrition can play a role in slowing the progress of cancer, or even curing it in the earliest stages. The test provides woman who test positive to use nutritional, exercise, and other holistic approaches, doing all they can to begin the fight early.) The foundation desires plans to help make this new test available to lower income, high risk woman throughout the country and/or those who have had the BRACAnalysis. [BRACAnalysis® by Myriad assesses a woman's risk of developing breast or ovarian cancer based on detection of mutations in the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes. The (BRCA) gene test is a blood test to check for specific changes (mutations) in genes that help control normal cell growth. Finding changes in these genes can help determine the chance of developing breast cancer and ovarian cancer. A BRCA gene test does not test for cancer itself.]
